Hinged glass shower door repair – Over time, the hinged shower door may be damaged like sag, bend, or rust meanwhile the door is one important access that is existed in every room. How to do it is by removing door and frame hardware attached to the wall and threshold of the shower. Then disassemble the parts slowly. Note the door style as some may have individual hinges so it needs to be released one at a time. Next, off the screws and hinges until the doors can be taken including the side supports and other parts.
On the second stage, it is eliminating the remaining strips. The existing U strips must also be removed but do not pull it off of the wall as it may cause damage to the enclosure surface. Use a thin putty knife measuring about 1 inch to remove it. Move to the third stage, the thing to do is to clean the surface and remove the adhesive caulk left on the surface. Use razor blade, utility knife, or heat gun which is set in low temperature.
If there are mildews, then use mildew cleaner before installing a new shower door with hinge. On the last stage, the door can be installed. Read carefully the instructions given including where the hinge will swing. Make sure to put it on the right side of the door. Use adhesive caulk, a long bead one with 1/4 inch wide.
